I was to drive to Queretaro with my family in December is it safe after everything they say in the news? Has any one been there lately?

I have traveled in Mexico extensively. The worst of the troubles are near the US border. Drive through and be careful where you stop. Mexico is a large country with many different regions. Most of them are safe. The recent drug wars make some areas unsafe. Contact the US Department of State. They can give you an update on where not to go.

maria...try to pass the border early morning...go and fix the permit for you and your car..and drive normal...you will found a check point when you pass the limits of the mexican states...i just drive yesterday, i live in san miguel de allende, gto....30 min from queretaro
